Saturday Enrichment Program
Teaching Op****tunities
Do you have an interest in creating a course for highly able and
motivated primary age children? The Saturday Enrichment Program, now in
its 21st year, seeks professionals who are interested in developing and
implementing hands-on, experiential courses for bright students. The
program seeks to emphasize critical thinking skills, problem solving,
and creativity through innovative teaching practice and unique content
areas. The goal of the program is to enhance student interest in
learning by providing experiences that challenge the students’ abilities.
Here is some brief information about the job. Please contact me if you
are seriously interested in applying. We run a five-week Saturday
program in the months of February and March. The dates for Saturday
Program are: Jan 31, Feb. 7, 14, 21, 28, with a March 6th snow-day in
reserve. The times are 9:00 am-11:00 and 11:30-1:30. You would teach a
unit twice each Saturday to a different group of students for a total of
four hours of teaching. Students are grouped as K-1, 2-3 or 4-5 grade
levels and you would create a unit in response to the developmental
level of your choosing and our needs. The salary for the five
Saturdays is $680 for new teachers plus you will be assigned two
teaching assistants to help you with the class!
