In the Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008 Metro FREE Newspaper there
appeared
on page 8 an article entitled "Tories' success undermines need for
elections:
Critics"
POLITICS
1st paragraph:
Prime Minister Stephen Harper has been complaining for weeks that an
obstreperous opposition is preventing his Conservative government from
moving
ahead with its agenda.
QUESTIONS: what agenda is the Toronto Star alluding? Does the Toronto
Star know?
Who knew? (Ha! Ha!) But they won't say. The Toronto Star does NOT feel
the need
to tell what the agenda of the Conservative Party is all about. Why?
Does ANYONE!
know the agenda of the Conservative Party? Does Mr. Harper know? Who
knows?
The Toronto Star seems to take for granted that Canadians know. What
NONSENSE!
2nd paragraph:
In fact, his has been one of the more successful minority governments
in
Canadian history -- facts that undermine his argument that a $300
million
federal election is needed to give his party a fresh mandate, critics
say.
QUESTIONS: what FACTS? How does the Toronto Star define a "successful"
minority government? Does the Toronto Star know what a successful
minority
government is? If it does, it's NOT saying. Why? Is this responsible
re****ting
by a supposedly top notch Canadian newspaper or just plain tabloid
journalism?
3rd paragraph:
"I don't think serious analysts pay much attention to the argument
that this in [sic]
a dysfunctional parliament," said Barry Kay, associate political
science professor
at Wilfred Laurier University in Waterloo.
QUESTIONS: Is this current Parliament "dysfunctional" or "successful"?
Whose in
doubt - nay confused - besides the Toronto Star? Canadians are at a
lost trying
to figure out how Parliamentarians can sit on their duffs in
Parliament and talk
about nothing that is of a direct concern to them like the
dysfunctional employment
insurance program, *debilitating* poverty that sends the poor
repeatedly to Hospital
Emergency and/or jail at tremendous cost to the taxpayer, skyrocketing
taxes,
unresolved First Peoples' land claims, 10+ year wait for social
housing across
Canada, way too may cops representing UNNECESSARY GOV'T SPENDING,
way too many people in jail who have no business being there
representing more
UNNECESSARY GOV'T SPENDING, meteoric growth in *unproductive*,
*placeholder*
Police State Gov't jobs especially in the RCMP and intelligences
services just
because the money is there to be spent, a rediculously low minimum
wage that
have people working in ECONOMIC SLAVERY at percarious, *abusive*
jobs,
YOUNG PEOPLE BECOMING *** TRADE WORKERS due to unemployment
or to pay UNREASONABLY HIGH COLLEGE/UNIVERSITY TUITION FEES, etc.
And the Toronto Star is suggesting that this "has been one of the more
successful
minority governments in Canadian history". COME ON! Talk about
YELLOW!
JOURNALISM of the worst sort.
4th paragrah:
Parliament can boast a legislative track record: there have been 65
bills passed
by the House of Commons since the Conservatives formed the government
in January
2006.
QUESTIONS: the legislative track record of a gov't is a reflection of
how successful
it really is, is this what the Toronto Star is saying? More bills
churned out the more
successful it is, is that it? Is this INSIPID! THINKING or what?
5th paragraph:
"They want an election ... because the economy is going south," Kay
said.
QUESTIONS: why is the economy taking a nose-dive? Are the
Conservatives
to blame? What have they been doing about it? NOTHING? Why? TOO LAZY?
If they did NOTHING SO FAR, will they do more if RELECTED or the
same?
What's your guess? I'm going with DIDDLY SQUAT - AS LITTLE AS POSSIBLE
which is THEIR RECORD so far from what I can see.
last line:
TORSTAR NEWS SERVICE
The title "Tories' success undermines need for elections: Critics"
suggests that
the Conservative Party should keep on doing what it has been doing -
which in
the view of most Canadians is BUMBLING! ALONG. That's - simply -
SILLY!
The article LACKS CLARITY as it only *ALLUDES* TO FACTS.
If this was given to a University professor, he'd refuse to grade it
and throw
it in the trash can.
TRASH JOURNALISM.
*KEY* QUESTIONS: were the Toronto Star and Metro newpapers PAID! by
the
Conservative Party of Canada to print this ad? If so, how much were
they paid?
Are Canadians not entitled to know this information? These guys gotta
come
clean or Canadians won't be taking them and what they have to say
seriously.
This article was NOT an OPINION PIECE.
It pretended to be a *factual* article, NOT a PROPAGANDA PIECE NOR an
advertisement for the Conservative Party. The byline says STAR NEWS
SERVICE.
HOWEVER! the facts were lacking making it a *shameless* PROPAGANDA
PIECE, a blatant piece of VERY! SLEASY yellow journalism - in my
opinion.
Was I duped? No.
For 100% CLEAN! Gov't policed financially by Canadians using the
Internet that
is committed to REDISTRIBUTING THE WEALTH by DECRIMINALISING the
Gov't in order to eliminate poverty and that is committed to helping
Canadians
build their own small businesses so that can be independently wealthy,
