It is perhaps appropriate to point out that wikimedia.org belongs to the 
Wikimedia Foundation, which is the parent organisation of Wikipedia, and 
therefore has an interest in promoting the use of Wikipedia.

Wikipedia is like the curate's egg: good in parts.  I use it myself 
occasionally, but I don't regard it as an authoritative source, and when 
I'm seeking information in a professional capacity, I always seek 
independent confirmation of anything I read at Wikipedia.
