	After ensuring that the drive itself has free space (right click the
icon, pick "properties", check used vs free space), possibly running a
disk check (from the properties page click tools then error-checking --
the OS may state it needs to reboot to do the check), and running a
defrag (same page)... you could try configuring M$ rudimentary backup...
Do NOT use the backup button on the property page of the Maxtor drive.
You'll need to get to the properties/tools page of any source drive you
want to backup, and do the configuration from there, specifying the
Maxtor as a destination.

Might be overkill if you don't do much video/audio work... I'm running
v9 Deluxe; includes a version of Sonic/Roxio "Backup MyPC" (I don't use
the backup module; my uses are cleaning up digitized captures of old
45/33 records, and general data CD burning)
