Unfortunately, Macs aren't as "robust" as you think. I have some senior 
rellies that are Mac tragics and have found that not all Macs are backward

compatible. They have recently bought a new Mac which has "X" OS installed

and which will not accept any data from their old Mac which is using a 
version "10.?.?".
