Ummm ahhh... PURELY in the spirit of paying forward some of 
the grief given non-British asking questions on 
soc.gen.british ... ;)

LOOK at a map!  New Orleans is many things, but "Eastern 
Seaboard" isn't among 'em.  It's one of a half-dozen or so 
Gulf ****ts.

Among the Eastern Seaboard ****ts not mentioned would be 
Savannah and Miami and in some time periods, Alexandria VA.
