Not really.  We don't know how good the software and interface are
compared to ancestry's.  Last time I tried the Beta version several
months ago, they only had a fuzzy search (like ancestry has) and no
exact search and no wildcard search.  The main advantage
familysearch will have is all of those microfilms, that no longer
will require $5.50 and several weeks wait to look at them only at a
Family History Library.  But last I heard, it will take them another
5 years to put all of the LDS microfilms online, and even with
family-search indexing most of them won't be indexed.  It isn't
clear how many of the unindexed microfilms will be made available.

Ancestry already has the Quebec Drouin collection of (thousands of)
microfilms online for a year now, and I've made good use of it, but
they've managed in the last year to get them indexed, a bigger chunk
of work than all of the FamilySearchIndexing has probably
accomplished.  When that index comes on line, then for Quebec
genealogy, Ancestry will be peerless.

Ancestry already has ALL of the censuses indexed. Family Search has
just 1880 and I think 1900, and is working on 1850 and 1870 as well
as the 1930 Mexico census.  It will take years for the church just
to index the censuses.  Ancestry has the money to ****p jobs like
that to Asia and get it done (albeit with some degree of sloppiness,
but one that can usually be overcome with a skillful search) in a
fraction of the time that an army of volunteers can get things done.

The already-searchable indexes and the immense volume of data that
can be searched is Ancestry's value-added.
