I've now had a chance to look at those, and they are the kind of thing I
was
thinking of, but both are incomplete and ened a lot more work. 

Incidentally, I've started a wiki for my own family history at

It's a kind of public wiki where anyone can start one, and could be useful
for
people anting to have a family site where all family members could
contribute
and discuss information. 

I've only just started mine, so it's to early to say how well it works,
but it
could be a useful tool if you can get enough family members to participate
and
contribute information. 

Wikispaces would not be suitable for the kind of thing i suggested in this
thread -- I think that would need a dedicated server.
