I would like help to find information on the parents of Andre Scmutz
from Laissey. I need dates of birth and death please. I have a very
very old photo of Jeanne Augustine Breteniere on a hill near the
railway with my mother as a baby.
Jeanne Breteniere was my mothers grandmother and I believe that
Breteniere Seraphin and Julia Marle were her parents. I also have the
name Germaine Julia Breteniere born in Baume-les- Dames 16/04/1899 and
dead in Laissey 31/03/1900.
I know there are some graves in the cimtiere at Laissey.
My mother was Mauricette Marcelle Schmutz and her father Andre Schmutz
died of Amoebic Dysentery in 1927 aged 26 years old. He's buried in
Laissey somewhere. I have his Naval berets with the red pompoms here
in Scotland.
There may also be a connection with a butchers shop as I believe my
Grandmere was working in it and met Andre Schmutz.
