Or, even more to the point: If US commentators make/made fun of
DeGaulle, Mitterand, Chirac, or even the hot-tempered Sarkozy, we
French-Canadian Americans could care less. However, make fun of P.E.
Trudeau, or the way Jean Chretien speaks English, then the hairs on the
back of our collective necks stick out, because THESE guys are "one of
us" and not to be made fun of or ridiculed. These are us!
