In my opinion it should read:

Le 20 décembre 1871 nous soussigné vicaire de L'Islet avons inhumé dans 
l'église de cette paroisse le corps de Prosper MORIN menuisier époux de 
défunte Marie Soulange BERNIER de cette paroisse. Présents Charles Morin 
écuyer médecin et John ***ton écuyer marchand tous deux de St-Nicolas et 
Octave Morin menuisier, lesquels ont signé avec nous.
