Thanks, Roger.

Any idea what significance of the use of the title Squire has in this 
context and time period?

As the decedent was "inhumé dans l'église", I presume that he was a well 
respected member of the parish.  Would there be any other evidence of 
this? (at the church, or in notarial records, for example).
