I am new to this list. I am South African mom living in Israel with
children living in both SA and Israel.
I am looking for Adelaide Elizabeth/Elisabeth de la Montaigne (born
c.1878) who married Percy Charles Cookson (born 1873 in Exmouth,
Devon, England) at the British embassy in Paris before 1905. Adelaide
had a younger brother George Ernest De la Monttaiger. As you can see I
have at least 2 different spellings of their surname.
I have tried googling on variations of this surname but come up with
very little. Can anyone give me any insight into this name/family. And
what the correct spelling may be.
Percy was the son of a Church of England Reverend. Any idea why would
they marry at the British Embassy?
Any help, or suggestions where else I can look, on this query will be
much apreciated - at the moment I am stumped on this family.
