the BeNeLux genealogical newsgroup you are still in a /wrong/
group! Estonia was never part of Germany (unless you mean World War II
when it became part of the Reich for a brief time). Though Hoffmann and
Marienhoff do really sound German, I don't suppose you will find many
answers in this group. Why not try news:soc.genealogy.slavic as Estonia
was during a very long time (until 1990) part of the Russian
Empire/Soviet Union? Maybe (but I admit, it's a huge 'maybe') you will
have more luck there! I can't find a specific Estonian geneological
newsgroup, I'm afraid...
