Untill 2004 there was a search engine for searching in family trees on
the internet. It used gendex.txt files to index thousands of family
trees and contained over 60 million person names. Unfortunately
Gendex.com went offline in 2004.
But there is good news! Now there is FamilyTreeSeeker.com
(http://www.familytreeseeker.com).
A new search engine using the same
gendex files. So if you use a program that can ex****t gendex files
(Ged2html, Ged2www, Gedpage, GedBrowser, TNG, PhpGedView, Legacy,
etc.) you can submit your tree now. You can already search in over 2.7
million names and it's growing fast.
