In the sgm archives is the following:

Snippet continues:
"... married Margery, daughter of Idonia de Cantebrigge. Robert, who
_died in 1298, had houses in Milk Street. His wife inherited from her
_mother in 1312 a large house in Mild Street, which she at once sold

In pursuing the above online I find:
'Wills: 11 Edward I (1282-3)', Calendar of wills proved and enrolled
in the Court of Husting, London: Part 1: 1258-1358 (1889), pp. 60-66.

de cantebrigge.

"Cantebrigge (William, son of Reginald de).=97To Dame Idonea de
Cantebrigge, his mother, his house and shops in the parish of S.
Leonard near the church of S. Martin le Grand, left to him by his said
father. No date."

I also find, in the frustrating Snippet view:
Ekwall,Eilert. STUDIES ON THE POPULATION OF MEDIEVAL LONDON.
London: Almquist & Wiksell, 1956. Digitized by Google 12 Jul 2007
(Snippet view).

p. xi "Cantebrig=92 of Aldermannebir=92 1279" [my note: Aldermanbury -
Robert de Basing held land there]

p xx Cantebrigge.
"(1) Reynold de Cantebrig, citizen of London 1264 (pledge for Henry de
Frowyk, goldsmith, as sheriff. R. De Cantebrege 1278 Will=85=85=85."

Does anyone have access to the latter source (Ekwall), with time to
check this out? It looks like there may be more information, but I
can=92t be sure. I haven=92t made any headway by manipulating the Snippet
View access.

Thanks, Mardi
