Notice that Doug's MCA says the following about Frances (Latham)
(Dungan) Clarke, wife of Jeremy Clarke of New****t, Rhode Island:
"widow of Thomas Dungan, Gent., of Lincoln's Inn, Middle***, and
daughter of Lewis Latham, Gent., Sergeant Falconer to King Charles I,
by his wife Elizabeth."

Notice that in his will of 1653, Frances' father Lewis Latham "of
Elstow in the county of Bedford, gentleman" mentions his current wife
Winifred and his daughter Ann Seager (in addition to daughter
"Francis" Clarke):

The new 2004 _ODNB_, vol. 49, p. 680, in its sketch of the herald Sir
William Segar states that he was "b. in or before 1564, d. 1633," and
"was probably the son either of Francis Segar and Anne Sherard, or of
Nicholas Segar, brother of Sir Francis Segar, gentleman of the
bedchamber to Maurice, landgrave of Hesse, and Eleanor Crakenthorpe."
This account also states:
"By 1584 Segar had married first Helen Somers (d. 1593x6) of Kent, and
had three sons, Jacob, Giles (d. 1649), and Anthony (b. 1586), and
three daughters Catherine (b. 1585), Elizabeth (b. 1592), and
Penelope, who married first Nicholas Charles (d. 1613), Lancaster
herald, and then Timothy Cartwright of Marshbone, Gloucester****re,
with whom she had Timothy Cartwright, builder of the Royal Exchange.
By 1596 Segar had married Maria, daughter of Robert Browne of Evinton,
Hereford****re, and had four sons, John (b. 1596), who died in
Virginia, Frederick (b. 1599), William, and Thomas (1609-1670), later
Bluemantle pursuivant of arms, and three daughters, Ann, later wife of
Lewis Latham of Ellonstow, Bedford****re, Sarah (b. 1601), and Alice
(b. 1603)."
Notice the extreme similarities between "Lewis Latham of Elstow,
Bedford****re," and "Lewis Latham of Ellonstow, Bedford****re."
There are a couple extracted baptisms in the IGI of which we should
probably take note:
Bletsoe, co. Bedford
--Oliver Latham, son of Lewis Latham, bapt. 4 June 1607
Cardington, co. Bedford
--Anne Latham, daughter of Lewis Latham, bapt. 19 June 1608
Oliver Latham was probably named in honor of one of the St. John
family of Bletsoe, who frequently used the named Oliver.
I wonder if Anne Segar was actually a daughter of Sir William's first
wife, and so mother of the Anne Latham born 1608? Notice that Lewis
Latham's will mentions a daughter "Ellen," perhaps named after Sir
William Segar's first wife Helen.
