von der Trenk / von der Trenck
appears to be a family near Königsberg, East Prussia,
as well in early 1600s as in 19th century or so.

my interest is piqued to a certain name-bearer in
Finland, namely
Martti Sebastian von der Trenck (bc 1625 in East
Prussia; dc 1654). He is mentioned, in Genos article
authored by Christian von Warnstedt, to have been born
in East Prussia (at the time or just before, king
Gustav II Adolf with his Finns, Swedes, Estonians,
Scots, mercenaries, and so forth, traipsed around in
East and West Prussia, for a while conquering those
lands).
Martti Sebastian von der Trenck is then, as adult,
mentioned in Finland, and in military service
(mercenary?) where he at an occasion was a captain in
Finnish armies.
His wife (her first marriage, perhaps took place in
c1650) was baroness Kaarina Lichtone, heiress of
Tervajoki (born 16 Sep 1629 at Kimalaissalmi manor,
****voo, Finland; died 1660); herself born of a
relatively im****tant Finnish family (which just
surfatially looks like scottish :), being daughter of
lady Kaarina Guthrie (born 15 February 1605; died
c1653) [half-sister of the Finnish general Torsti
Stalhandske, Lord of Kimalaissalmi, Commander of
Hakkapeliitta forces, and also half-sister of the
Finnish nobleman Lyydik Matinpoika Grönfelt, 1st Lord
of Kulloo]
and her first husband (m 17 May 1626 at ****voo,
Finland)
baron Juhana Lichtoun, 8th of Ulishaven, and Lord of
Tervajoki in Finland (bc 1595 in Scotland; killed 24
Sept 1636 at battle of Wittstock), who migrated from
Scotland to Finland; 1626 captain in Ostrobothnia
regiment in Finland, at least in 1632 was major
already; finally lieutenant colonel in cavalry
regiment of Nylandia and Tavastia.
With his wife, Martti Sebastian von der Trench had
daughter from whom lots of interesting people descend.
Now, I do not know anything about ancestry of Martti
Sebastian von der Trench. But I would like to get to
know.
Those details, I suppose, would be easier available,
or already with, some genealogists/ researchers/
hobbyists who have studied eastern Prussian families
and/or roots of some easternmost junkers of the
Prussian empire.
So, who were parents and ancestors of Martti Sebastian
von der Trenck ?
