Royal gateways back to Europe are not so rare.
For example, after the lost of Canada by France, the officers from
the colony went to France and to other French colonies. Likewise,
after the American Revolution, the Loyalists often got back to
England. And the same thing happened in almost all former colonies.
During the colonial times, the officers were named for some years
and then get back to the mother land. Some of them were married in
the colony, bringing back a wife with royal ancestry.
This is not limited to state officers and can be extended to any
part of the society. While majority of migrants moved westward,
some got back, and among them, some with Royal ancestry. There
is no mystery in that, only something that happened from time to
time.
