Sarah Duchess of York's Arderne and Legh medieval ancestry

by wjhonson <wjhonson@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > May 9, 2008 at 09:30 PM

In my continuing series on the additional medieval ancestry of Sarah
Ferguson Duchess of York we come (again) to that

Frances Beresford whose parents were Francis Beresford (of Newton
Grange and Fanny Bentley) and his wife Mary Arderne.

Mary Arderne was baptised 6 Jan 1605 at Saint Mary's Stock****t,
Che****re. Her parents were Henry Arderne of Hawarden, co Chester and
his wife Margaret Legh. They had been married 4 Jun 1601 at
Prestbury, Che****re.

Henry Ardern's parents were John Arderne and his wife Mary Holland.
Although their names sound good for further ascent, I haven't yet
found it.

Margaret Legh was baptised at Adlington, Che****re 19 Jun 1582, the
daughter of Thomas Legh of Adlington by his wife Sybilla Brereton.

Thomas' four grandparents were George Legh, Jane Larke, Richard
Grosvenor and Katherine Cotton. Several royal ascents from this point
back.
