I emailed Susan a copy of Gary's write-up, and then wondered if others
on the list might be interested (I think Janet Ariciu was a
descendant). Gary's notes are concise yet elegantly written:

and John C. Brandon, especially the 24 June
1650 marriage at Saint Bartholomew the Less, London, of Daniel
Gotherson and Dorathie Scott (in the IGI); the 30 Jan 1628/9 baptism
at St. Alphage, Kent, of Dorothea Scott (and the 1627 and 1635/6
deaths of her brothers Charles and Thomas); the 5 Oct. 1626 marriage
in Lenham, Kent, of Thomas Scott (aged 15 in 1619 according to the
1619 visitation of Kent) and Judith Thomson; the 1611 baptism and 1614
burial of Doryte Scott, daughter of the elder Thomas above;
Ecclesiastical Cause papers (available on the access to [UK] archives
website), noting a contention between Mary [Knatchbull] Scott and her
daughters (Ann Paramor, Catherine Scott and Mary Bragg) and
grandchildren Thomas and Dorothy Scott, children of Thomas Scott,
Junior, Mary's son, deceased; 1653 Chancery suits between John Bragg
and Mary his wife and Daniel Gotherson, Dorothy his wife, and another,

Bundle 403, No. 225); plus Robert Hovenden, ed., _The Visitation of
Kent, 1619-21_ (HSPVS, vol. 42, 1898), p. 128 (Scott). G.D. Scull,
_Dorothea Scott Otherwise Gotherson and Hogden [sic]_ (1883) and the
_Oxford Dictionary of National Biography_ (2004), 23:24 both omit the
generation of Dorothea's parents and mistake her for her aunt, who
died aged 3.
