Margery Preston (christened 1650), daughter of George Preston of
Craigmillar, married John Eyre. They had a daughter, Mary, who
married George Evans of Bulgaden Hall (whose daughter married into the
Massy family of Duntrileague). This information is from "Eyre of
Eyrecourt: A Short Account of the Family Eyre of Eyrecourt and Eyre of
Eyreville in the County of Galway" by Rev. Allen Stewart Hartigan,
M.A., Trinity College, Dublin. There is no date or publisher's mark
but the manuscript is available on-line through the national library.
The problem is that other sources, such as Stirnet, show Mary Eyre as
the sister of the above John Eyre, not the daughter. Has anyone else
worked with this family who may have some insight as to which account
