n-parliamentary record: extract from the exchequer rolls
In the account of John Stewart, lord of Buchan, chamberlain of Scotland,
given at Perth on 20 May 1409, of receipts and expenses made since 27
March
1408, reference is made to: 'And for the ambassador sent in England for
conducting and embassy, from the ordinance of the general council, £7.'
Later in the same account reference is made to 'general council' having
ordained that the duke of Albany's expenses outstanding from the reign of
Robert III be paid (ER, iv, 103).
