Hi Carolyn — I'm glad if this has helped (tho I know it may not have
felt too kindly at first sight — I remember getting excited about the
supposed Read(e) / Hoo connection decades ago & the letdown when I
hadta 'disprove' em & move on!)

As I say, mixed up in tons of other work (& other geneal lines), I
left off long ago at the point when there'd appeared the possibility
of Read(e)/Errington intermarriage & a possible lead through the
latter. This thread having stirred my loins (or adjoining parts, tho
loins seem apt enough in the progeny circuit), I've been further
gripped by Don Stone's having pointed out that certain Erringtons
settled in MA — which I notice to have been at very near the date and
certainly the location (Charlestown) of the Read(e)'s first
settlement there. The chance of a resurrection here? Don's extremely
generously offered to let me see files affecting the Erringtons of
Benwell, and if any matches do turn up you can be sure I'll shout.
Best luck meantime!
Cris
