Several sources state that Baldwin de Clare had a son Geoffrey who had
a daughter Alice/Aline. This Alice married Hugh de Claghull and
Remfridus, probably without issue.
British History Online:"There was a priest in the manor of Harefield
in 1086, (fn. 20) but nothing further is known concerning the church
until the late 12th century. At that time Beatrice de Bollers, and her
son, Geoffrey son of Baldwin, who seem to have owned Harefield manor,
(fn. 21) gave the advowson to the Knights Hospitallers. (fn. 22)."
An account of Harefield in An historical account of those parishes in
the county of Middle***, which are not described in the Environs of
London.
p. 105 fn suggests that "The deeds if Alice de Clare are of uncertain
date, but they appear as ancient as the 12th century; and we must
suppose them to have been not later that the middle of the century, to
render Alice de Clare's possession of the manor of Harefield
consistent with the long possession of the Bacheworths and their
ancestors."

: Ingelram (de Boviton) and his wife Joan, are mentioned in a
Lincoln****re fine.7 It appears that three weeks from Easter Day, 6
Henry III (23rd April, 1222) there was a fine between Geoffrey, son of
Baldwin, plaintiff, by Ralph de Warevill, put in his place, and
Ingelram de Boynton and Joan his wife, deforciants, of two carucates
of land in Orreby, to wit, of all lands and tenements which the said
Ingelram and Joan held in dower of the said Joan, in Lindsey, of the
inheritance....
Could anyone suggest who this Baldwin de Clare and son Geoffrey might
have been. I have failed to find them in any de Clare pedigrees.
Thank you in advance,
Pat
