Be carefull with that.
1- November is based on the value 9, so in some records, you can
see 9-ber for november.
AND
2- When the year begun the March 1st, november was the 9th month.
BUT
at some time, England was using 2 different dates to begin the year.
The legal beginning was the March 1st but the civil beginning (used
by people) was the January 1st. There can be some confusion in
records because of that.
As an example, the attack on Deerfield occured the last of February
1703/1704. Was is the 28 or 29 ? Legally, it was in February 1703,
so not a leap year, but actually, it was the 29, so the civil date
had the priority.
