Pass****ts and voyages

by "Tony Proctor" <tony_proctor@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Nov 8, 2007 at 07:42 AM

Has anyone tried to determine whether an ancestor travelled abroad
or not? Unless I'm looking in the wrong places, it appears
impossible to be certain of who was actually travelling

I found a potential name match with an ancestor in a voyage from UK
to Philadelphia back in 1892. However, the outgoing details are
pretty sparse, as are the details taken on disembarkation. I can't
find any details of return voyages with the same name - in fact I
can't find any details of inbound ****ps to the UK at all, only
outbound. I can't find her name in the next US census, or any
marriage records there. I tried looking through UK pass****t
applications but even though I haven't found it yet, I doubt I would
find many details associated with it (e.g. town or city of
residence).

Does anyone have any suggestions for proving who really did travel
on a given occasion, or determining what they did next?
