my knowledge, RootsWeb has been part of Ancestry.com for some
time. That said, RootsWeb is still free and Ancestry.com has
publicly stated that RootsWeb will remain so for the forseeable
future. In this old world of ours, one should never say never, but
so far Ancestry.com has been true to their word in keeping the
premier on-the-web resource free for all to use.
