Unfortunately because a lot of the spam showing up on Usenet is
originating from Google accounts, many Usenet users have become
so fed up that they've just blocked anything and everything being
posted through Google. As a result, if you actually post a
question through Google groups, it won't show up on a lot of
people's news readers.
There are other sevices about but in general, you have to pay a
bit for them.
