Beginning ?

I heard about 2 major ISPs here.

Sympatico has no more Usenet newsgroups for a while (2 years ?).
You have to rely on the various free servers to post while they
provide some kind of more or less reliable address to get news.

Videotron still have a new server but the quality is low for yaers.

My own ISP is using an external news-only server and binary newsgroups
are complete.

My test to see if all messages are received is to check if a binary 
newsgroup with large messages have them complete or not.  With my
previous ISPs, Sympatico and CAM which was using the Videotron server,
there were nearly no complete message in a typical newgroup with
large binaries, so that it is obvious they lose messages in the
text nesgroups.  My current ISP has the same binaries newsgroups
complete.
