I think that this is the ISP response - it's easier to dump the lot 
than to take action against the ejits. They're afraid of what will 
happen if they carry, for example, all the pirated software from some 
of the binary groups...

There will always be a few who take pleasure in spoiling things for 
the majority.
Most of my newsgroups have associated mailing lists - but they're not 
so convenient.
