Manaia,
Naw, talking about Harlingen down in the Tip of Texas (Cameron Co.). My
late
brother and sis-in-law were (like me) from Algiers (part of New Orleans),
but they lived in Fort Worth for years (and considered themselves Texans),
but when he retired from Delta Airlines, he said he wasn't gonna spend
another winter in the Dallas-Fort Worth area! So they bought a place on
the
golf course in Harlingen. (Where they played nearly daily when other
pastimes didn't interfere.) My late sister-in-law was a member and a
past-president of the Tip of Texas Genealogical group.
Houma is in south Louisiana, in Terrebonne Parish, near the Gulf of
Mexico.
There is a Homer in north-east Louisiana, however.
